On Thursday, May 15, Daniel Bryan underwent successful neck surgery. The procedure was to help repair a lingering nerve issue. Before the surgery, reports noted that Bryan was expected to miss six-to-eight weeks of action. However, following surgery, WWE’s timeframe was two-to-three months.
Now, it seems the timeframe may be even worse than expected, according to PWInsider. The website is reporting that talk within WWE is that its two-to-three month timeline for Bryan’s return would be the best-case scenario, if everything from now on goes swiftly. Presuming things do not go to perfection, it could easily be longer of a wait for Bryan’s in-ring return.
On the next edition of “Monday Night Raw,” on May 19, the fate of Bryan’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be determined. This episode of the program will not air live, as it will be taped beforehand, since next week’s WWE programming will be taped in London, England, at The O2.
Editor’s Note
If true, this is such a bad break for both Bryan and WWE. Unfortunately, as more and more is becoming available, it seems that Bryan will for sure be stripped of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on “Monday Night Raw,” unless Bryan makes a John Cena-esque return to the ring much sooner than anticipated.
