According to a recent report by PWInsider, there is a lot of talk regarding Daniel Bryan’s future as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, a hot topic since his victories at WrestleMania XXX. Some of WWE’s higher-ups still feel that Bryan is not over with the WWE Universe, but instead, the “YES” chant is over. These same people believe that Daniel Bryan peaked at WrestleMania XXX.
On the other hand, the report also notes that Bryan is not like other current top guys in WWE. It is said that many of WWE’s top guys like to argue with WWE officials regarding the way they are booked and portrayed on WWE programming. Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan is said to be different, not possessing much of an ego in terms of how he carries himself backstage, in addition to how he deals with the creative team.
Additionally, many people within WWE are waiting to see how Bryan’s reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion goes. These people are waiting to see if he remains hot, or cools off and is moved out of his main event position.
Editor’s Note
Can you imagine the gall of the people who still believe that Daniel Bryan is not over? It makes me question if these individuals have watched the past couple of months of WWE programming, in which the fans chanted “Daniel Bryan” in addition to “YES.” Even in cases where people now chant, “YES” at some sporting events, many of those people are still showing their love for Daniel Bryan, not a chant.
It’s not surprising that Bryan carries himself well backstage, unlike others. Watching his WrestleMania XXX documentary on WWE Network, it is evident how good of a person Bryan truly is.
I really hope that Bryan is not quickly pushed out of his position as a top guy in WWE going forward, but unfortunately, it definitely remains a possibility.
