Over the past couple of years, the first edition of “Monday Night Raw” following WrestleMania has become one of the most must-see episodes of the program throughout the calendar year. This has been echoed through the viewership information for the April 7 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” provided by TVByTheNumbers.com
Despite having stiff competition from CBS, as the network aired the 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship Game, WWE was able to maintain over 5,000,000 viewers throughout all three hours of “Monday Night Raw.” The first hour, which featured Daniel Bryan celebrating his WrestleMania victories, drew in 5,313,000 viewers. Viewership then dipped to a number of 5,094,000 for the second hour. Unlike some weeks in the past, the viewership drop for the final hour was not that substantial, as the third hour garnered 5,032,000 viewers.
Additionally, WWE was number-one in terms of cable ratings for Monday, April 7. For adults aged 19-49, “Monday Night Raw” was given a 1.9 rating, easily besting the second place program, “Basketball Wives,” and its 1.2 rating for the age group. WWE’s 1.9 rating is up from the previous week’s rating of 1.6
Editor’s Note
Having such strong numbers for the post-WrestleMania “Monday Night Raw” is a very good sign for WWE. Hopefully these numbers can steady and not drop so much over the next couple of weeks, as WWE turns the page to a new chapter.
