Last Monday night, Seth Rollins re-injured his knee during Raw’s main event segment where he was attacked by the debuting Samoa Joe, and it’s looking like the ex-Shield member will miss WWE’s biggest show for the second consecutive year.
Now the question is, who will replace Rollins at Triple H’s opponent on April 2? Some fans have already come up with a few names, with Finn Balor and Samoa Joe being the biggest of the bunch.
Over the weekend, Cageside Seats suggested that Batista will be the guy who replaces Rollins. But, on Monday, they reported that Triple H vs. Batista won’t happen at this year’s show, and that WWE still hasn’t decided on who will be The Game’s opponent this coming spring.
“WWE has yet to decide on who Triple H’s opponent for WrestleMania 33 will be but it won’t be Batista.”
Batista has said multiple times that he’d like for his retirement match to be against Triple H, and with The Animal approaching 50 years old, it’s pretty much time for him to have his final match. So, while we probably won’t see The Game vs. The Animal this year, we’ll probably see it at some point in the next two or three years, that is if Batista is still interested in returning to the ring.
