During the latest edition of former WWE superstar Ryback’s podcast — Conversation with the Big Guy — the ex-Intercontinental Champion didn’t have the kindest things to say about Paul Levesque, who is better known by his in-ring name, Triple H.
Before the Ryback character was brought to WWE’s main roster, The Big Guy had fought through various injuries, and, at one point, the company almost released him due to him being so injury prone. But, he was somehow able to hold onto his job, even though Triple H told him at one point that the company was going to pull the plug on him.
On the aforementioned podcast, Ryback recalled a conversation he had with Triple H while he was recovering from a significant ankle injury:
“Hunter, who was starting to gain more control over developmental at that time period, was coming to FCW a little bit. That’s when I think the wheels were kind of turning as far as him getting more and more involved in developmental. He comes up to me. He goes, ‘oh, how are you doing?’ I go, ‘I’m feeling good – I’ve finally got the metal taken out of my leg.’ He goes, ‘ah, eventually, we have to pull the plug on you.’ His exact f–king words. Hunter, Triple H, f–king, ‘eventually, we have to pull the plug on you’ were his exact words.”

WWE didn’t pull the plug on The Big Guy, and he eventually got his shot on the main roster, where, for a short period of time, it looked like he was going to become the company’s next main event superstar. But, like with most other up and coming talents, WWE dropped the ball on him, and he became just another mid carder.
Ryback decided to not renew his contract with WWE earlier this year, citing unhappiness with his salary and his position on the card as his reason for leaving.
