During Monday’s Raw, Stephanie McMahon announced that there will be a women’s Royal Rumble match at the January 28 pay-per-view in Philadelphia.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, ex-UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey might make her WWE debut during the Rumble. According to Meltzer, some women on the roster are under the impression that Rousey will end up making her WWE debut on January 28.

“I don’t know if [Rousey] is in the Royal Rumble,” said Meltzer. “But I do know that some of the competitors that are in there are under the impression that she’s in. I do know she’s been training a lot.”

If Rousey ends up winning the Rumble, it’s likely that she’ll end up facing Asuka at WrestleMania, as the unbeaten former NXT Women’s Champion has been beating everyone in under two minutes with an armbar as of late, which was Rousey’s signature move during her MMA career.
