Braun Strowman recently underwent surgery for an elbow injury, and the original prognosis for his return was six months. However, it appears that he’ll be out of action for significantly less time than that.
On Sunday night’s Live Audio Wrestling podcast, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that Strowman’s injury isn’t as bad as WWE made it sound, and that he’ll be back in time for SummerSlam in August.
“Six weeks, eight weeks,” said Meltzer when asked how much time Strowman will miss. “The idea is that he’ll be back for SummerSlam. I don’t know [if he’ll be booked with Brock Lesnar], but that would sure make sense, because he was originally going to headline the July show with Lesnar, and whoever was gonna headline SummerSlam, which I presume was [Seth] Rollins, will probably be the one who [headlines] the July show, and they’ll just flip-flop it.”
Also according to Meltzer, the main reason why WWE said that Strowman will be out of action for six months is because they want his “early” return to be shocking.
