The past year of WWE programming has been instrumental in changing the perception of women’s wrestling in WWE. There are still some people that won’t take it seriously, but they’re dinosaurs.
The fact is that the Women’s Division in WWE is no longer a novelty act. It’s a competitive group of elite performers and athletes that entertain the WWE Universe.
In fact, there is a lot of pride in women’s wrestling right now. The wrestling world is still changing, and there are things being done outside of WWE that are as important to changing the image of women in wrestling.
Within WWE, Divas have become women. Women have become WWE Superstars, and the match quality for women’s matches has increased massively. Major strides have been made, but there are still things to do.
For example, Sasha Banks and Bayley main evented at NXT Takeover: Respect. Trish and Lita main evented Raw over a decade ago, and there have been several women segments that have ended Raw in the past.
However, many people are wondering if a WWE PPV will ever feature a women’s match as the main event. The idea isn’t so crazy anymore, and all it is going to take is the right feud for WWE to pull the trigger.
Do you think WWE will ever feature a women’s match as the main event of a major WWE PPV?
