Last night on Monday Night Raw, The Dudley Boyz turned heel and are providing another quality heel team in the WWE Tag Team division.
It’s a good thing for them because they’ve been floating around the division for many months now, and they’ve always excelled more as a heel tag team.
On paper, these two may not seem like a fit, but I see a perfect fit because they’re both playing very similar characters with a similar attitude.
Miz has been advocating for months that he wants to help another character reach “superstardom”, who is a better fit than Prince Pretty with his character’s gimmick, narcissism, and wrestling ability.
Currently, The Miz is playing the third wheel to the AJ Styles and Chris Jericho feud. He’s hosting MizTV and everything, and he’s actually got some surprising heel heat. Miz is also an extremely underrated tag team wrestler.
Miz is also an extremely underrated tag team wrestler and he’s excelled at providing quality heel work to get his partner over with the WWE Universe. A great example of this is Damien Sandow. Sure, he’s barely featured on WWE TV now, but that’s not the fault of Miz.
The other day, I wrote another opinion piece about saving Tyler Breeze because he is capable of so much more than what he is doing right now.
If WWE paired him with Miz, he’d be able to benefit from off his heel heat, get to wrestle in the tag team division on a regular basis, have a better spotlight to display his character, and ultimately get on television more.
Afterward, Breeze vs. Miz can always launch him onto other things. Breeze isn’t going to get over as a singles wrestler and Miz is kind of stuck in the middle filling a narrow role. Both men could benefit from a partnership and have some success in the tag team division.
