Divas Championship Match Announced For “Fast Lane”

The “Genetically Superior Diva” will need to enter “Brie Mode” if she wants to continue her reign as champion.

It was announced this evening on “Monday Night Raw” that WWE Divas champion Charlotte will be defending her title at “Fast Lane” against Brie Bella. Bella earned the opportunity to wrestle for the championship after defeating Charlotte in a non-title match last week on “Raw.”

Bella’s last reign as Divas Champion began on April 11, 2011, when she defeated Eve Torres on an episode of “Raw.” She has most often seen on TV as an integral part of the E! hit television series “Total Divas.”

Charlotte has been the Divas champion since September 20, 2015, when she defeated Brie’s sister, Nikki Bella, at “Night of Champions.” Since then, she has aligned herself with her dad, Ric Flair, and has undergone a full heel turn.

Brie Bella’s is currently married to WWE superstar Daniel Bryan, who announced his retirement from in-ring competition earlier today.

At first I could not understand why they were doing this match, but the more that I think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Not only does this pretty much confirm that they are giving us Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte at WrestleMania, but it gives Charlotte a chance to build up some serious heel heat by defeating the wife of Daniel Bryan.
