Stephanie McMahon missed Monday Night Raw last week because she was in Cannes, France for the “Cannes Lions Festival” that lasted for most of the week.
During that event, Stephanie spoke candidly about SmackDown going live next month. She also spoke about WWE storylines going to fast and needing to slow down.
During a Q&A session in Cannes, Stephanie said point blank that WWE has lost the ability to tell stories over a longer period of time because Monday Night Raw needs three hours of content every week and SmackDown continues those stories later on in the week.
She was confident that the brand split will be able to make some serious changes to that way WWE books their storylines and hopefully, they’ll be “slowed down” with there being two separate rosters.
It’s something WWE creative is definitely working on to slow down the storylines for longer feuds and allow the make it easier for the WWE Universe to connect to them over time rather than have things move at a high rate.
There have been a few examples of WWE having longer feuds and storylines over the past few years, but that is what makes those feuds unique. A perfect example is Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins.
