Prime and Epico finally made their re-debut on Monday Night Raw this week, but it hasn’t set the WWE on fire. It has gotten a lot of comparison to The New Day’s debut, which is just a way of wrestling fans to say “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.”
Admittedly, they’ve had one week to show their new gimmick, but “The Shining Stars” are already being considered a flop by much of the WWE Universe and a lot of WWE officials behind the scenes.
According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, there has been a lot of criticism from WWE fans and a lot of people backstage about their debut.
It’s still very early, but many within WWE immediately lost hope for the gimmick and believe that they’ll be back right where they were as Los Matadores before Summerslam. Simply put, they think the repackaging was lazy.
Some kind of backstory could be the saving grace for the new tag team, but many think the only good thing that could come out of this new “Colons” gimmick is the return of Carlito.
However, there is no news on recent talks with Carlito. In fact, many people are questioning why guys like King Barrett and Damien Sandow were released by the company, but Primo and Epico are still getting chances and doing nothing with them after weeks of hype.
What do you think of the “Shining Stars” gimmick so far?
