Admittedly, a lot of people complain about the amount of programming WWE puts out every week. It can be a lot, but every second of it is previous because anything that is wasted could have been used for someone else.
For example, there are a lot of situations when a random match or something similar could have been scrapped to make one match on Raw go from a good match to a great match. On paper, that makes a better show.
According to a rumor from CageSideSeats.com, WWE officials have been talking about doing more “enhancement matches” on television using local talents.
Although WWE is trying to do a good thing by sparing a lot of lower card performers from putting over the next “big star” and the taking unnecessary loses. Using local wrestlers isn’t really going to do the job is it?
The problem with that logic is the audience doesn’t know who the talent is, so a win over them isn’t very meaningful. It’s also taking time away from WWE superstars that are on the roster and need the TV time.
Being a jobber isn’t the ideal job for any wrestler, but some of them are insanely talented and make the job of being an enhancement talent look good. Tye Dillinger is a perfect example. Without the role, he’d have no purpose.
Do you think it is a good idea for WWE to start using “enhancement talents” on a more regular basis?
