Ever since Bill Goldberg was officially announced in the promotion for WWE2K17, there has been a lot of speculation about his potential return to WWE.

The WWE Universe is still holding out for a return from Goldberg. That was proven as the main event of “Summerslam” ended with Goldberg chants filling the Barclays Center.

There have been a lot of rumors about Goldberg returning to WWE for one more match going back as far as Wrestlemania 32 several months ago. However, a new report is claiming it may finally become a reality.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, the former WCW and WWE Champion and WWE are talking about potentially expanding their working relationship beyond the work that is being done for WWE 2K17.

Apparently, Goldberg has been in touch with WWE officials, but the details of these conversations aren’t clear as of this writing. All that has been said is “the wheels are in motion.”

The potential for a match is likely, but something like a WWE Legends contract, appearances on WWE TV, or a WWE Hall of Fame induction seem like much more likely ideas than a return match after over a decade away.
