As the feud between Sasha Banks and Charlotte progressed over the summer, most people assumed the climax of their feud would be at “Summerslam.” The Boss vs. The Champ seemed like a perfect match.
However, WWE made the decision to give us the biggest moment of the feud during the first edition of Raw after the WWE Draft and brand split. Banks won the WWE Women’s title and era of The Boss seemed to begin.
That was until their rematch at “Summerslam,” where Charlotte reclaimed her WWE Women’s Championship from Sasha. The reason behind the title change was the latter needed time to heal from nagging injuries.
According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, that wasn’t the original plan for Sasha Banks’ title run. She was originally meant to hold the WWE Women’s Championship for a long time.
It’s very likely that she would have held the title all the way to Wrestlemania 33 where it’s been rumored that WWE officials want to book Banks vs. Bayley on the grandest stage of them all in Orlando.
The odds of Sasha Banks returning to WWE next month to reclaim the WWE Women’s title are high, but there is a lot of speculation what WWE will do considering how stacked the Raw Women’s Division is right now.
Do you think Sasha Banks is the next WWE Women’s Champion?
