There is nothing more for him to do in wrestling. There is no one who has “done it all” in WWE as much as The Deadman, and he is fifty years old. How much longer will he wrestle?
Let’s be honest for a second, The Undertaker has such an aura and atmosphere about him. So much so that he’s been able to get away with certain things that other wrestlers don’t.
It’s not a bad thing in this industry, but a huge reason for some of these comebacks has to be about the money. It’s doubtful he needs the money. But he keeps coming back and NOT put anyone else over. Meanwhile, the WWE Universe gives him nothing but overwhelming praise and respect for his contributions to the industry.
I’m not interested in bashing The Undertaker. I’m just another member of the WWE Universe that adores him and has nothing but appreciation. But, isn’t it time for The Phenom to call it a career for his sake?
We all saw what happened to Sting this year. It’s a very real truth that Taker could end his career in the ring because his body finally said “enough” rather than on his own terms. Does anyone want to see The Deadman suffer the same fate as many before him, or do we want to remember him as he was at his strongest?
The other biggest problem I have is he’s not putting anyone over. Sure, you could make the argument that a match with The Undertaker is getting put over enough. I’m not saying that he’s buried anyone. I’m just saying that he hasn’t lost a match to anyone besides Brock Lesnar since 2010. That’s a fact.
In my opinion, let’s do it all in one big finale. Wrestlemania 32 is in Dallas. The Undertaker should have his final ride this April against a young opponent that he puts over. That’s fair, and he retires on top with his health intact.
“The Final Ride” of The Undertaker makes Wrestlemania 32 one of the most important events of all time, especially after this year’s “Survivor Series”. Add The Rock’s involvement and everything else in between and Mania 32 is a serious contender for one of the best Wrestlemania’s of all time.
Mark Calloway has a job in WWE for the rest of his days. He’s arguably the best performer of all time. Let’s allow him to go out on top like he deserves above all others on the grandest stage of them all. Then next year, WWE can put him in the WWE Hall of Fame.
It sounds great to me. Honestly, I’d buy a ticket without question. I don’t know anyone in this industry who wouldn’t.
