It’s a given that Roman Reigns is going to win the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania. A lot of people are unhappy about that, but there are some really intriguing possibilities for feuds after April 3rd for the new WWE Champion.
Admittedly, there have a lot of rumors about various superstars that are going to enter a feud with Reigns after Wrestlemania. So far, we’ve heard that it could be Braun Strowman, Ryback, or even Bray Wyatt. However, there is a better choice I haven’t heard yet.
If you read my opinion pieces on a regular basis, you know that I recently had the idea of making the Wrestlemania match between AJ Styles and Chris Jericho an Ironman match.
There hasn’t been an Ironman match at Wrestlemania since the first one between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 12 exactly twenty years ago. That seems like a perfect scenario to give Jericho and Styles thirty minutes and steal the show.
Styles goes over Jericho, obviously. The real question is what happens after Wrestlemania? It has already been reported that Y2J is staying on WWE television after April 3rd. If you ask me, WWE should book Chris Jericho vs. Roman Reigns after Wrestlemania.
After the grandest stage of them all, Reigns will be coming off a victory over Triple H. No offense to them, but how do you go from The Game to Braun Strowman or Ryback?
Jericho would be coming off a thirty minute Ironman match with AJ Styles; his character just turned heel recently. He’d provide a great win for Reigns, so his title run doesn’t flounder, and when was the last time Y2J had a title shot?
Last but not least, Jericho would be doing exactly what he does best. He’s be putting over another young talent that needs a win over a great veteran.
Jericho vs. Reigns after Wrestlemania is not only best for business. It’s just a no-brainer.
