Kane should be the biggest heel in WWE today.

On paper, I know how ridiculous that sounds. However, since 2014 Kane has been the victim of multiple instances where WWE pushing him would have made him the biggest heel in the company and accomplished the best run of his entire career.

That’s a bold statement to make, but it’s truly jaw-dropping how neglected Kane’s character has been by WWE’s booking despite being so influential in three of WWE’s most radical shifts since 2014.

The fact that no one has seen the mistakes WWE made with Kane over the last two years is unbelievable. In my opinion, the wrestling world has lost the opportunity to utilize Kane into perhaps the biggest monster heel ever.

First, we need to go all the way back to the 2014 Royal Rumble. The last official match of CM Punk in WWE. As seen above, Punk is eliminated by Kane, put through the announce table, and we haven’t seen Punk in WWE since, and we may never see him again. On WWE television, Kane ended CM Punk’s career that night.

I realize the Punk and WWE situation was an absolute mess when he left for health and personal reasons, but WWE had to acknowledge Punk’s departure on WWE television somehow. What happened is WWE ignored the issue until they were forced to send out Paul Heyman in Chicago to handle it himself.

If WWE had to acknowledge Punk’s departure, why not give Kane credit for taking him out at the Royal Rumble? The momentum swing for Kane would have been unbelievable, especially if he did the promo in Chicago instead of Heyman. The fans would have hated him because he took away CM Punk.

That was a huge missed opportunity because the WWE Universe was so passionate for Punk after he left and rather than that being wasted chanting his name, it could have been used to make Kane a mega heel going into Wrestlemania 30. If WWE pushes Kane, The Streak may still be going strong today.

After Wrestlemania 30, Kane feuded with the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. The fans couldn’t have been higher for Bryan after FINALLY winning the championship, but the feud with Kane was seen as a downgrade and a disappointment for his first title defense.

If Kane had been given credit for ending Punk’s career, the fans wouldn’t have felt that way. However, Bryan’s body caught up to him, and he was eventually written off WWE television after several attacks by Kane. Bryan vacated the WWE Championship, and John Cena claimed it at Money in the Bank 2014.

It’s unbelievable that WWE dismissed a monster heel run for Kane twice in three months. In those few months, Kane has ended the career of CM Punk and immediately after Bryan FINALLY wins the WWE Championship, Kane puts him on the shelf.

In three months, Kane has taken out the WWE Universe’s two favorite wrestlers, but potentially ended both of their careers. That’s unbelievable heel heat.

It’s shocking that Kane was passed over to become the WWE Champion after Bryan got hurt after ending Punk’s career and putting Bryan on the shelf of which he has not been able to recover from almost two years later. What was WWE thinking?

If WWE had given Kane his due, there is no telling where Kane’s character could be right now. He certainly wouldn’t have been a stooge for The Authority for the last two years. He would have been their monster, and The Authority would have been unstoppable.

Even after all those missed opportunities, Kane still finds himself in the best of situations that he has been passed over for AGAIN. When Seth Rollins got injured earlier this month, it was during a match in Dublin with guess who?

There is no reason that Kane couldn’t have taken credit again for injuring one of the top performers in the injury and asserting his monster heel status again.

It’s true, Kane was technically a face again in the Rollins’ feud, but Rollins became a face the moment he went down with the injury. Kane could have made it work after having the reputation of ending Punk’s career and putting Bryan on the shelf for two years.

However, Kane wasn’t even in the WWE Championship tournament. He’s been playing the third wheel to The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt feud going into this Sunday at “Survivor Series”. He could have turned heel for putting Rollins on the shelf, or even gained momentum as a face for taking out the evil Rollins.

WWE has drastically underutilized Kane’s character to the point where it is depressing to see what they’ve wasted by not pushing him despite being the right guy, at the right place at least three times.

Kane

I’ll say it one more time, Kane should be the biggest heel in WWE today. At the very least, he should be respected enough as a heel to create new stories rather than the shell of the monster he used to be.
