Baron Corbin has been doing very well on the main roster thus far. Winning the third annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal certainly got him off on the right foot.
Since then, he’s been feuding with Dolph Ziggler. There isn’t anything particularly unique about the feud, but Corbin is coming off like a monster and Ziggler is doing a good job of putting him over. They’ll most likely have a match at “Payback”, but their feud doesn’t seem to have legs to last for much longer.
The question after that is what is next for Baron Corbin after “Payback?” WWE wouldn’t have moved him to the main roster, booked him to win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal without an intention of giving him a long-term substantial push.
It’s not a good thing to admit because I’ve been such an advocate for him, but Kalisto’s run as the United States Champion should end sooner rather than later. Clearly, WWE has no plans to push Kalisto into the spotlight as the US Champion. Since that is, unfortunately the case, we should just move on with another champion.
I’d prefer if it were Neville when he returns, but Corbin will have a little bit of momentum after defeating Ziggler and taking the title from Kalisto will help him get over as a heel just a little bit more.
Do you think Baron Corbin should win the United States Championship?
