A little over a month ago, Johnny Mundo, formerly Johnny Morrison of WWE, recently made some negative comments about current WWE Champion Roman Reigns.
Even more recently, Mundo appeared on the “Kevin Gill Show” to promote the second season of Lucha Underground. He clarified his comments on Roman Reigns and discussed wrestling needing an offseason.
You can listen to the full interview right here. Below are some of the highlights:
Should wrestling have an offseason?
“There’s no other entertainment show that doesn’t have an offseason. There’s no other professional sport that doesn’t have an offseason. Part of the good thing about an offseason is it gives the performers time to reflect on what they did for the season. It gives the people behind the scenes time to reflect. It gives the writers time to write. And it makes it, so there are no loose ends.”
Does he care to clarify his recent comments about Roman Reigns?
“I did this interview. And I put him over like he’s a really nice guy and a buddy of mine. They were like how would you like to wrestle him? And I kind of said off the cuff, a little jokingly and a little seriously I’d love to wrestle him in ten years after he’s learned to work. Did I mean that? I just made the comment to bust his balls a little bit”.
