They had a different idea. We are coming up on the return of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event with the show coming back after an eighteen year hiatus. As a result, WWE is going to go all out to make the show feel important, including a variety of big matches. We have a good idea of what the final card is going to look like, but we also have an idea of what was originally going to happen.

According to PWInsider.com, the original plans for Saturday Night’s Main Event called for the third match between Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins to complete their trilogy. However, the match did not happen due to Reed suffering a broken foot. As a result, Drew McIntyre was rushed back into action earlier than expected and put into a feud with Sami Zayn, which will take place on the show instead.
Reed vs. Rollins could have worked well. Check out what was set up:
Opinion: This does make sense as Reed vs. Rollins is a feud that has been built up for a long time now. It’s annoying that something happened beyond WWE’s control but that is going to be the case sometimes. If nothing else, it shows you just how deep WWE’s roster is right now, as they can throw something like McIntyre vs. Zayn out there without missing a beat.
