What’s in a name? There have been all kinds of wrestling promotions around the world over the last few decades and some of them have established quite the spot for themselves. Over the weekend, Impact Wrestling announced that they will be returning to their former Total Nonstop Action (TNA) moniker. The name change will begin on January 13, 2024 at their Hard To Kill event, with the company continuing with the old name going forward. There is no word on why the company is making the name change. Impact Wrestling was known as TNA from its inception in 2002 until January 2017 when the company rebranded.

Opinion: I’m going to need an explanation on this one, as the company has been under the new name for about seven years now but for some reason they are changing back to a name which might not have the best connotation. Maybe this is the kind of change made to capitalize on some nostalgia, but I’m not sure how many fans who are nostalgic for TNA who are not already watching at this point.
