They like each other. There are certain rivalries in wrestling that see wrestlers grow to respect other over time. The matches between the people involved are that serious and intense that the wrestlers are impressed with what the other has done. That has been the case in recent weeks and it was on display again this week. Now that things are done, the two see each other in a different way.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Hand Them Over: Two Title Changes Take Place This Week On NXT

The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Bron Breakker defeat Sami Zayn to retain the Intercontinental Title in a 2/3 falls match. This was the third match between the two, with the first two matches being split. WWE has posted a video from after the show showing Breakker looking at Zayn in a show of respect. Zayn looks back at Breakker as he leaves the ring, signaling an end to their feud.

This was special. Check out the clip, plus some of their time against each other:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes for a special moment and both of them made it work. Their feud told a good story with Zayn trying to outsmart Breakker, who only got smarter every time they fought. Zayn can’t beat Breakker anymore and knows it, which is how you make someone like Breakker feel like a bigger star. This was a great way to wrap it up and the two of them are in a good place going forward.
