WATCH: Joe Hendry Returns To NXT, Jumps Straight Into Main Event Scene

He’s back. It is a rare situation when a wrestler from one promotion gets to wrestle elsewhere but those moments can be some of the most interesting in wrestling. Some of these come by surprise while others are telegraphed in advance. Other times will be more of a mixture, which is what took place this week as a top star from another promotion made a big splash elsewhere.

The main event of this week’s NXT saw Shawn Spears and NXT Champion Ethan Page teaming against Trick Williams and a mystery partner, who wound up being TNA’s Joe Hendry. The match ended with Hendry pinning Spears, marking his first victory in NXT. This came after Hendry’s face appeared at the end of last weekend’s NXT Heatwave. There is no word on how often he will be featured in NXT going forward.

Opinion: It makes sense that Hendry is being pushed in this way as you do not often see someone of his status being brought into a bigger promotion. NXT seems to know what they have with him and are giving him a big chance on the grand stage. There is a good chance that he winds up in NXT full time one day and this is the kind of win that helps get his feet in the door this early.
