WATCH: Former WWE Superstar Makes Surprise Debut On AEW Dynamite

He’s in. The introduction of AEW to the wrestling world has changed the way the industry works for all kinds of wrestlers. After WWE dominated for such a long time, there is now another national, heavily funded promotions that will allow wrestlers a new place to go. That was on display this week, as a former WWE Superstar and champion made their AEW debut.

This week on AEW Dynamite, MVP was involved in a backstage segment with Prince Nana. When Nana wanted to fight MVP, he was told to deal with the head of MVP’s complaint department, which wound up being the debuting Shelton Benjamin. While Benjamin did not say anything, he did steal Nana’s coffee before leaving. This comes after Benjamin left WWE earlier this year when his contract expired.

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise but what matters the most is that we are getting to see some veteran names show up who are still fresh around AEW. Benjamin is someone who can add some leadership and experience to the company and hopefully help some of the younger stars. At the same time, it opens up the question of whether Bobby Lashley will be joining Benjamin and MVP, which could make things even bigger.
