Fond farewell. We are on the way to Revolution, where one of the show’s most prominent matches will see Sting’s retirement match. Sting and Darby Allin will team up against the Young Bucks in a match that has been promoted for the last few weeks. However, Sting and Allin had another match to get through on the way to Revolution and it wound up being quite the big deal.

The main event of this week’s edition of Dynamite saw Sting and Allin defeat Ricky Starks and Big Bill to win the AEW Tag Team Titles. This marks Sting’s first title win in AEW and Allin’s first Tag Team Title. Following the match, the Young Bucks attacked the new champions as well as Sting’s sons, leaving Allin blodied to end the show. There is no word on what will happen to the titles should Sting and Allin retain at Revolution.
It was a big deal. Check out the title history and how the champs got here:
Opinion: This was a genuine feel good moment and that is what AEW was trying to have. What mattered was giving Sting one more big moment and AEW built it up. The other thing that helped was Sting and Allin have been a successful team for a very long time. It isn’t a stretch to have them win the titles and if Sting can go out with a successful title defense while getting some revenge, everything will be even better.
