They have a plan. We are about two months away from WrestleMania 40 and that means the show is already starting to come together. It makes for some interesting moments when the card begins to be revealed. That does not necessarily mean it is a good thing though as the fans can react in a negative way to what they are being offered. That is the situation here and now we know something else about WWE’s thinking.
Last week on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes announced that he would not be facing Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania. Instead, it was implied that the Rock would be taking the spot instead, which has resulted in an extremely negative backlash from the audience.
According to PWInsider.com by way of Cagesideseats.com, the match is “100%” still the plan for WrestleMania and will be taking place barring some sort of major issue like an injury. Despite the original backlash, WWE believes that they have enough time to make the story “make sense” before WrestleMania. It is also not believed that the Rock will turn heel during the story, with Rhodes becoming an even bigger babyface.
It should be a big deal. Check out how we have gotten here so far:
Opinion: I’m not sure what to expect from the story but right now it sems that Rock vs. Reigns is either all but set in stone or this is one heck of a ruse with a big twist coming. The good thing is that the fans are this interested in what we are seeing and it could result in a heck of a moment when we get to Philadelphia and see whatever WWE has planned for everyone involved.
