WATCH: Cody Rhodes Officially Challenges The Rock

Gauntlet thrown down. We are about six weeks away from WrestleMania 40 and that means the show is starting to come together. There are several matches already set and we could be in for several more, as WWE has quite a few moving parts at the moment. Over the weekend, one of the biggest stars in the company issued a challenge for a major match, though it might not be at WrestleMania.

On Saturday morning, WWE presented its annual Elimination Chamber event. The show included an edition of the Grayson Waller Effect, featuring Cody Rhodes as a guest. Rhodes talked about the Rock and challenged him to a singles match, anytime, anywhere. It is not clear when or where the match could take place, though the Rock currently does not have a match booked in the future.

Opinion: There is something fascinating about what we are seeing at the moment, as there are so many ways that WWE could be going for WrestleMania and beyond. They have done a great job of setting up the pieces and now we are going to get to see where all of this goes. That is one of the hardest things to do and yet WWE has made it work, which is quite the impressive feat.
