So that’s how they’re getting out of it. This week on NXT, Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano went one on one but the match was short lived as NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa ran in for a disqualification less than three minutes in. After the match was over. General Manager William Regal came out and made a triple threat match for the title at Takeover: Brooklyn IV. While not yet confirmed, the match might be already be off the books.
And down he goes.
WWE has posted a video showing Black having been laid out in the parking lot after NXT went off the air. While no one was seen attacking him, Johnny Gargano and the Undisputed Era were both seen nearby, with Gargano walking into the building as Regal walked out to see what was going on. This is likely the way that WWE will write Black out of the title match due to Black’s real groin injury, which is probably going to keep him out of action for the time being.
Opinion: Well, it’s not like they had any other option. If Black can’t wrestle, there’s no point in putting him out there where he could get hurt even worse or just look terrible. This can put some heat on whoever you say attacked him (Ciampa and Gargano would be the likely suspects, but you could really go with any story you wanted if you chose to) and they can always do the match later. It’s annoying, but it was a necessary move.
What do you want Black to do when he gets back? Should he move up to the main roster? Let us know in the comments below.
