That’s a new one. There are several titles under the WWE banner, some of which have quite the lineages between them. Those titles all have something in common though, in that they have to begin at some point. A wrestler becoming an inaugural champion can be quite the moment in their career. That is what we are going to be seeing next month, albeit with a title that is not going to be quite the same as most traditional championships.

Over the weekend at WWE Bad Blood, Chief Content Officer Triple H announced that a pair of matches will bee held at Crown Jewel on November 2. The matches will see the two men’s and two women’s world champions face off against each other in non-title matches. The winners of the matches will be awarded the Crown Jewel Championship, which will become an annual tradition at the event. There is nothing to suggest that the title will be regularly defended.
That’s a big belt. Check out the announcement, and the introduction of other titles:
Opinion: This is similar to what WWE has done before with the two World Champions battling for brand supremacy at Survivor Series, but now the winner gets a one off title. I’m not sure how much good that is going to do, but this is the kind of title that does not offer much of a problem. It will show up at Crown Jewel and likely ends there, but in theory it will make for a nice one off idea.
