They’re not coming home either. The first WrestleMania saw the Tag Team Titles change hands when the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff defeated the US Express to win the titles. The titles changed back about two and a half months later because the initial change only took place for the sake of making the show historic. That seems to be the case again as a title change from just last month has already changed back.
And they did it in a great match.
This week on NXT TV, the Undisputed Era’s Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly regained the NXT Tag Team Titles from Moustache Mountain’s Tyler Bate and Trent Seven, who won the titles last month at the United Kingdom Championship Tournament Special. The Undisputed Era won the match when Bate threw in the towel to save Seven, whose knee had been damaged earlier in the match and was fighting out of a leg lock.

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world as they did the initial title change to surprise the fans in the UK, but my goodness what a great match. They told an awesome story with Bate not wanting to throw in the towel but finally doing it to save his friend. That kind of ending sets up a third match in Brooklyn and that’s not going to be a bad thing whatsoever. The title chance makes sense and I can’t wait to see more from these guys.
