Video: Chris Jericho Attacks Kenny Omega in Japan

Break the walls down and bust him open. Earlier this year, Chris Jericho was announced as a surprise opponent for Kenny Omega at the upcoming “Wrestle Kingdom XII” in January. The match is being billed as a special, once in a lifetime dream match, and that’s what we’re getting. Thankfully, we’re also getting some build towards the match, which took place today in Fukuoka, Japan.

Earlier today at New Japan’s “World Tag League 2017 Finals”, Jericho made a surprise appearance, attacking Omega with a Codebreaker and busting him open with a belt shot to the head. Jericho also attacked announcer Don Callis until the Young Bucks made the save. Here’s a clip from New Japan’s Twitter account and a shot of Omega busted open.

Opinion: This is going to be the co-main event of New Japan’s biggest show of the year and it’s a good idea to have Jericho come in and actually do something like this to help build towards the match. Omega is likely going to win but at least we’re getting a build instead of “hey here’s Jericho vs. Omega at the pay per view”.
