Uh Oh: Bad News On MJF's Injury Status And It Could Get Worse

That’s a long time. Injuries can come out of nowhere in wrestling and unfortunately some of them can be rather devastating. Someone going on the shelf can have repercussions that last for a very long time as you don’t know how long someone is going to be on the shelf. Unfortunately that appears to be the case again, but it is going to depend on a choice that a wrestler makes.

AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder, as well as a hip injury during the latter half of 2023. Friedman wrestled through the injuries until he lost the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe at Worlds End. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Friedman is hoping to deal with the injuries through rehabilitation, but surgery is not out of the question. Should he undergo surgery, Friedman could be out of action for close to a year. It is not clear how long he would be out should he be able to only use rehabilitation.

Opinion: That could be a rather long time for Friedman and while it would be nice to have him use the shorter option, what matters most is getting him back to full health. Friedman is a special talent and he is still relatively young in his wrestling career. It seems that he will be out of action for a long time no matter what, but hopefully he is back in action and fully healthy a lot sooner than later.
