They’re On Deck: Several More Details On NXT’s Participation In The Royal Rumble

They need a future. WWE has an interesting asset in the form of NXT, as they have their own in-house developmental system. To make it even more complicated, NXT is also a national television show, meaning it is rather easy to see these developmental wrestlers. Occasionally they get to make some appearances on the main roster, which was the case again last week. Now we know a bit more about their future.

Three NXT stars appeared in the Women’s Royal Rumble last week, with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, Indi Hartwell and Zoey Stark competing. Fightful Select has several more details on the NXT aspect of the Royal Rumble. In addition to the three stars who participated, Ivy Nile was also backstage as an alternate if needed. There were only ever women considered for the Royal Rumble and NXT had no say in how the stars were used or presented in the match. None of the three are going to be called up to the main roster at this point.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for an interesting preview, as you get to see what is coming to the main roster right in front of your eyes. That is something you only get to see every so often, as they are the stars who are going to be on the main roster one day. It is interesting to see what the stars have been doing and now we might have a better idea of how they are going to be doing once they get to the next level.
