Not him. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers in the world today and several of them work for the major promotions. That is not universally the case though, as there are all kinds of stars who have worked elsewhere but now stay on the independent scene for one reason or another. Now we know why one star has not been signed to one of the major companies.

Matt Riddle was let go from WWE last September and while he has appeared elsewhere, such as in New Japan and in MLW, he has not been signed to either. According to Fightful Select, AEW has no interest in signing Riddle, to the point where AEW wrestlers rarely work with Riddle outside of shows in Mexico. TNA is reportedly interested in Riddle and the two sides have had talks, but there is no word on any kind of a deal.

Opinion: While Riddle leaving WWE and going to AEW would seem to be the most logical way to go, it isn’t going to happen if AEW is not interested, which they do not have to be. Riddle is a rather skilled star but he might be kept out of the mainstream wrestling spotlight for a long time. As frustrating as that might be, there is little that can be done about it at the moment.
