Stick around. There are all kinds of people who come together to make a wrestling show work and several of them are not even active wrestlers. Some of those people are in the commentary booth, where they are tasked with guiding the fans in the direction that the promotion wants them to go. Having the right team is very valuable and now one of the most prominent voices has signed a new deal with WWE.

According to the Ringer, Michael Cole has signed a new contract with WWE and will be the with the company for the extended future. There is no word on how long the contract lasts and nothing to indicate that it will change anything. The deal is said to have been signed in the spring. Cole, 55, is currently the lead broadcaster for Monday Night Raw and has been working with the company since 1997 in a variety of roles.

He has a history. Check out Cole’s time in WWE:

Opinion: This is one of those things that needs to be done, as like him or not, Cole is one of the most important people in WWE history. You aren’t the voice of the biggest wrestling show in the world for years on end without making an impact and while Cole has his detractors, WWE certainly seems pleased with what he has been doing. Odds are Cole is going to be around for a long time to come and there are worse options to have.

What do you think of Cole? Who is your favorite broadcasting team? Let us know in the comments below.
