Hopefully the first of many. To say that the upcoming Crown Jewel even has been a bit controversial would be a pretty big understatement. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia doesn’t exactly have a strong record on human rights, including rather limited rights for women. This has been a sticking point for the WWE’s events there, though that might have lightened up a bit for this Friday’s show.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Renee Young will be doing commentary for the show from Saudi Arabia. There is currently no word on if there would be any kind of restrictions on Young while she is working on the show. At the moment, Young will be the only on camera female working on the show. It is also not clear if Young will be doing commentary for the full show or just the Monday Night Raw matches.
She’s been the first before.
Opinion: I guess this is WWE’s way of trying to tone down some of the issues the fans are having with the show but having one woman on the show makes the issues that much more prominent. If she has she has any form of restrictions on her, things are only going to get worse for WWE. There are other problems on the show besides this, and just having Young there isn’t going to make things that much better.
What do you think of Young being on the show? Will that make things any better? Let us know in the comments below.
