Quick Turnaround: Interesting Detail On Baron Corbin’s WWE Release, Possibly Last Second Move

Give him time. With so many stars on the WWE roster, the company has to let some of them go every so often. On occasion you will see wrestlers released, often after months of inactivity. That was the case last week when three stars were let go. However, it turns out that at least one of them had been doing some work for WWE recently enough that it seemed out of nowhere.

Last week, Baron Corbin was released from WWE, along with Tegan Nox and Indi Hartwell. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and later confirmed by Corbin himself, Corbin was filming content for WWE’s January move to Netflix six days before he was told that his WWE deal would not be renewed. There is nothing to suggest that there was any single moment or incident that led to Corbin being let go.

Opinion: This is one of the more confusing things in recent weeks for WWE, as Corbin seemed to have reignited his career in NXT and then was just never used. I’m not sure I get the thinking here, but Corbin is certainly gone for now. It wouldn’t shock me to see him wrestle elsewhere, but for now, it is going to be at least a little while before he is around anywhere.
