Perfect Timing: AEW's Saraya Undergoes Ironic Surgery

Now that’s irony. Wrestlers have a tough time with their in-ring careers as they can get rather banged up from one match after another. Those things can lead to a variety of health issues which can shorten the wrestlers’ careers. At the same time though, there are other medical issues that can come up which have nothing to do with what happens in the ring. Those situations can be quite problematic as well, and now an AEW star is dealing with such an issue.

AEW’s Saraya has revealed that she had to have her wisdom teeth removed, which took place right around the same time as she was about to wrestle Britt Baker, a real life dentist. Saraya also confirmed that Baker did not perform the surgery, but she did send Baker a video when she was coming out of anesthesia, blaming her for the issues. There is no word on how long Saraya will be missing from AEW TV. Her video was also uploaded to Twitter.

Landed from work. Straight off the plane to the dentist to get my wisdom teeth out. This all start just before I had to wrestle a real life dentist. The IRONY.

Opinion: That is one of those things that you cannot fathom coming out of nowhere and it is still just as ironic. It is something that can happen to just about anyone as there is no control over it, but at least Saraya seems to be fixed up after the issue. The irony of Baker doing the surgery would be one of the best twists ever, but thankfully Saraya should be ok after everything.
