One More? 52 Year Old Former World Champion Set For AEW Return

Welcome back. While WWE gets most of the attention in the wrestling world, it is not the only promotion that matters. The rise of AEW has added another high level promotion on a nationwide stage and it can make a big difference when a well known star makes an appearance for them, especially a former WWE Champion. That will be the case again next week as we have a special card coming.

This week on AEW Collision, it was announced that WWE Hall Of Famer and former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam will be returning to the company for a match next week. There is no word on whom Van Dam will be facing. Van Dam previously appeared in AEW in August, where he confronted and then lost to Jack Perry. He has speculated that the match cost him a WrestleMania Weekend appearance with WWE, thought his has not been confirmed.

Opinion: I’ve heard worse ideas than having Van Dam around as the fans are going to react to him and it wasn’t like his match with Perry was bad. That being said, he is 52 years old and doesn’t wrestle full time anymore. That could lead to some diminishing returns in a hurry, so it might be better if this is another one off match rather than the start of another full time gig.
