Every hall needs a monster. Back in 2012, Impact Wrestling started its own Hall of Fame. While that might have been odd at what is considered a low point for the company, it did make sense given how long the promotion had been around. Unlike WWE, Impact Wrestling only put in more than one name (or one tag team) into the Hall of Fame once, making it a more exclusive group. That’s the case again as another major name has been announced for induction.

He certainly deserves it.

Abyss Revealed as Newest Inductee to IMPACT Hall of Fame! | IMPACT! Highlights Sep 20, 2018

This week on Impact Wrestling, Abyss was announced as the 2018 Hall of Fame inductee. Abyss appeared on the promotion’s debut show back in 2002 and has been a featured star for several years. He is one of five wrestlers to win the company’s Grand Slam (winning the World Title, X-Division Title, Tag Team Title and a midcard title) as the second man to accomplish the goal. There was no inductee last year and Abyss is the eighth person to be inducted.

Opinion: There’s nothing wrong with this pick as Abyss is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the promotion’s history and deserves an accolade like this. He’s the best monster the promotion has ever had and his success should be recognized. I know he hasn’t been around very much lately, but his reputation is something that is going to be around forever.

Do you like Abyss being inducted? Who should give his speech and why should it be James Mitchell? Let us know in the comments below.
