I’ve heard worse ideas. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have been notably absent from “Smackdown Live” in recent months. Neither has wrestled on WWE TV since the Fourth of July but it seems to be changing in the near future, complete with a fresh gimmick for the two of them.
This week on “Smackdown Live”, Rowan and Harper appeared in a vignette wearing long capes and carrying large hammers. They both promised to hurt people as badly as they could have and dubbed themselves the Bludgeon Brothers. Harper and Rowan have teamed together in the past as part of the Wyatt Family and won the NXT Tag Team Titles in 2014.
Don’t remember the monsters together? Here’s what they can do.
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan serve notice: WWE SmackDown, June 4, 2015
Opinion: It’s hardly a high concept idea but that works as well as anything else. “Monday Night Raw” has its fill of big man tag teams (Sheamus/Cesaro and the Club) so having a straight power team here is a perfectly acceptable idea. Harper and Rowan have been gone for a long time now so it’s nice to not have to ask where they are anymore.
What do you think of the new gimmick? How long will it last? Let us know in the comments below.
