There is still time. We are just over two months away from WrestleMania 40 and normally WWE would have most of their plans set. This year is a bit different though as injuries and other issues have caused changes to the show. While that might be the case, there is at least one match that appears to be set in stone, at least for the time being. Now we know a bit more about where things are.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the current plan for the main event of WrestleMania 40 is still Cody Rhodes challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Title for the second year in a row. However, there is still the chance that plans could change. WWE has teased that Rhodes could challenge World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, with the two squaring off during an in-ring promo this week on Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: I don’t think it’s any secret that Rhodes vs. Reigns II is the likely direction for the main event, but there have been so many changes in the last two weeks that anything feels possible. There is also the Rock factor, as he very well may still be facing Reigns at WrestleMania. I’m curious to see where they go, as WWE still has quite a few options despite the big string of changes.
