He has a window. Retirement is a complicated concept in wrestling as you never know when a wrestler is going to officially step away from the ring for good. Wrestlers have tried to retire but then come back later on, which make for some interesting and exciting situations down the line. Now we are seeing another wrestler saying when he will be retiring, or at least close to it.

AEW’s Adam Copeland appeared on the Not Sam Wrestling podcast and spoke about his retirement from wrestling. Copeland said that he knew he did not have another 4-5 years in him and is looking at “like a two year window” to get in as much as he could. In addition to his wrestling career, Copeland said he needed to focus on being a partner and a father. He has not announced a retirement date or anything similar. Copeland previously retired in 2011 due to a neck injury and then returned to the ring in 2020. He joined AEW last year at WrestleDream.
Copeland has done well in AEW. Check out his time in the company:
Opinion: This shouldn’t be the biggest surprise as Copeland is fifty years old and has a lot of wear and tear on his body. That is more than enough of a reason to get out of the ring, especially after his body already gave out on him once. Copeland coming back to the ring was impressive enough and now we get to see what he can do against another cast of opponents. That is good enough, but it was always clear that it wasn’t going to be a very long term run.
