What’s British for slobber knocker? Jim Ross returned to WWE at “Wrestlemania XXXIII” and the word on the street was that he would be taking on some additional announcing duties going forward. It wasn’t clear when Ross would be back behind the mic first but now we know one of his first jobs.

On his website, Ross has confirmed that he and Nigel McGuinness will be broadcasting the new WWE UK TV show. The show taped its first two episodes over the weekend and will be airing in the near future. While no date has been confirmed, the show is likely to premiere before “Takeover: Chicago” as a match for the show will be announced at the tapings. Here is Ross’ announcement:

“I’m excited to announce that I will join the talented Nigel McGuinness to broadcast the recently taped, WWE matches from Norwich, England and these bouts will air on the WWE Network soon. Happy for this opportunity to call bouts involving new wrestlers, for me, and a new broadcast partner which freshens up all facets of the process. Stay tuned as to when these specials will be broadcast on the WWE Network which is still the best value in the land for only $9.99 per month.”

Opinion: We knew Ross would be commentating for WWE at some point in the near future and this is one of the best possible options. He and McGuinness could have some great chemistry together as McGuinness has really started to hit his stride on “NXT”. This should be a good fit and it could add a lot of positives to the new show.
