The danger of the season. Last week’s episode of “Impact Wrestling” was a big night with a new World Champion being crowned. The ratings and audience both went up but the question was how much of those could be retained. Not only was there no World Title match but there was also college football to deal with. That rarely offers the best result and it was a tricky path for the show to cross.
According to 411mania.com, last night’s episode of “Impact Wrestling” took a pretty big hit in both categories with a .05 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 268,000 viewers. These numbers are down 17% from last week’s .06 and 9% from last week’s 296,000 viewers. In addition to college football, the Weather Channel’s coverage of Hurricane Harvey put a dent in the show’s numbers.
In case you didn’t see it, here’s how last night’s show ended, complete with a big announcement.
A Chaotic Conclusion to IMPACT w/ American Top Team & Lashley | #IMPACTICYMI August 31st, 2017
Opinion: This really isn’t the biggest surprise in the world and I’m really not sure how big of a problem it is for GFW. They had to know a big hit was coming and with very little of note on the show, it wasn’t the biggest draw in the world. The show was watchable enough, but nothing is going to be able to stand up to college football, especially in a big game.
