Are you sure you got the right….brother? Roddy Piper had a very interesting line about being a wrestler: “When I was a wrestler, people said I was acting. When I was acting, people said I was a wrestler.” Wrestlers are an interesting breed in that way, as they have to do both things at once. Well what about when an actor is playing a wrestler? It doesn’t happen often, but it’s happening soon.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Chris Hemsworth (best known as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) will be playing Hulk Hogan in an upcoming Netflix biopic. The film, which does not currently have a release date, will focus on Hogan’s rise to the top of wrestling and the peak of Hulkamania with nothing from his post-wrestling career. Hogan is an executive producer and consultant on the movie while Eric Bischoff is a producer.

Hogan and acting? Check out one of the all time great cinematic spectacles:

Opinion: This one is going to depend entirely on how much Hogan input there is on the script. Hogan has told more tall tales about himself than the Brothers Grimm and if that’s the movie we see, it’s not going to be very well received. An actual biopic on Hogan could be interesting and Hemsworth could be a heck of a Hogan, but this could go one of two ways.

What do you want to see from the movie? Is Hemsworth a good choice? Let us know in the comments below.
