They had to. Wrestlers are regularly working long hours and several dates in any promotion as they have all kinds of things to do. Occasionally this can include things that are not taking place in the ring, which can take away from the time they can dedicate to wrestling. That appears to be the case again, which is why an AEW star will be out of action for the next several months.

This week on AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho defeated Samoa Joe in a street fight when Jericho put Joe on a forklift and drove him through a wall. Joe was taken away from the arena in an ambulance. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Joe was written off television as he is due to reprise his role as Sweet Tooth in season two of the Twisted Metal series. Filming commitments will keep Joe out of action until the end of October.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing you see in wrestling every so often and while it is sad to see Joe go away for about four months, it is rather cool that he gets to do something like this again and again. Joe is one of the better talkers in wrestling and it makes sense to see him getting into an acting role. It will be nice to have him back in the ring, but thankfully he is getting to do something like this as well.
