Not so fast. One of the more interesting and important WWE stories of the year has been the string of expiring wrestler contracts. Some of the wrestlers have been re-signed but there are some who either have left or are getting close to having their deals expire. It seemed that we had an answer about one such contract, but apparently that might not be the case.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Well Done: Monday Night Raw Match Receives Backstage Praise
This week on Monday Night Raw, Chad Gable challenged Sami Zayn to an Intercontinental Title match, with the match later being made official for Clash At The Castle on June 15. This comes amid reports of Gable’s current WWE deal being set to expire. However, according to Fightful Select, Gable has not officially signed a new deal yet and his current contract is set to expire this coming Friday. It is believed that WWE will allow Gable to wrestle without a contract.

Opinion: This is quite the change of pace and I’m more than a bit surprised that Gable is being allowed to wrestle without a contract. While there is always the chance that Gable will sign a new contract, we very well may be seeing a title match taking place at a major event with one of the wrestlers officially being a free agent. That is not something you often see, but it might be coming up next week.
