There They Go: WWE Undergoes Mass Layoffs, Over 100 Employees Reportedly Let Go

That’s a lot. The biggest story of the wrestling year has been the sale of WWE to Endeavor, which saw WWE merged with the UFC into a new company called the TKO Group. This has led to speculation of several upcoming layoffs within the company, many of which were to be behind the scenes. Now a lot of those layoffs have taken place and to say it was a big hit would be an understatement.

The mass WWE layoffs have been completed. According to PWInsider.com, the WWE Network and Podcasting divisions were heavily hit, along with the Marketing and Live Events departments. One of the more prominent names to be let go was Dana Warrior, who had been working for the company in a variety of roles since 2014, most recently in the Community Outreach division. There were reportedly over 100 employees let go throughout the day, including four major executives:

Vice President Of Development And Digital Jamie Horowitz
Executive Vice President And Head Of Marketing Catherine Newman
Director Of Enterprise Master Data & Governance Amanda Bloom
Vice President Of International & Platform Strategy Andy Levine

There is nothing to suggest any more layoffs are coming.

Opinion: This is something that you had to know was coming but that doesn’t make it any better. The people being let go are the kind of employees who aren’t high profile names and not people who have made a fortune in wrestling. It is a shame that so many of them are losing their jobs over something they didn’t impact and hopefully all of them land on their feet sooner rather than later.
